SuperBad – Download SuperBad the Movie Online

16 Oct

It is not a bad idea to download SuperBad the movie online. While it is titled “SuperBad”, it is not really a movie with a loose moral storyline. First released in theaters in 2007, the movie casts consist of Jonah Hill and Michael Cera.

Box office records hit a high $33 million during the opening. While achieving a rotten tomato rating of 87%, it would have been considered as a really lousy movie but it is. Going by the record ticket sales, it is definitely a movie you cannot miss.

Two high school buddies Evan and Seth have known each other since they were little kids. One of their friends, who would later become Evan’s college roommate made a fake ID with a funny and ridiculous name “McLovin” to purchase alcohol. Well, this shows the reality of how far under-aged kids would go just to do that. Of all things to happen, a robbery took place and “McLovin” was assaulted leading to a police report. From there, a series of unexpected surprises in comedy style took place.

The official website does not allow you to download Superbad online. This is expected since the movie makers normally will not let you download the movie for free on the official site once it is screening in the theaters. However, expect to be able to download the movie trailer. But there is a good chance that movies like these are released online, prior to hitting the theaters. These are called movie previews.

One option to find such releases is to download Superbad online via the torrent clients. The second option is to use Peer-to-Peer software. These are all available on the web. But be prepared to wait a long time for the movie to be transferred onto your computer. Normally, it will take more than an hour.

The free downloads are available in various file formats such as avi or DIVX. There is another problem you may encounter which you need to be aware. These P2P networks can be potentially damaging to your PC as a lot of them are not secured. You may end up downloading viruses together with the movie.

The wisest choices is to buy the DVD or simply to use a paid movie service to download the full show. A rating of 87% definitely means that SuperBad is an excellent movie of certain substance.

You can spend $20 to $40 to buy the DVD and keep it in your private collection if you are a collector. However, if you want to save some money, go ahead and download Superbad online from paid membership services now.

Saw 6

26 Jun

Saw 6 back with us – and thus will be: meat, blood, guts and sophisticated mechanisms to retrieve this from the human body.

Saw 6 is already in the works. Here’s what we know so far.

The reviews are declining sharply for each sequel in the series – Saw (46% on rotten tomatoes), Saw 2 (36%), Saw 3 (26%), Saw 4 (18%), Saw 5 (14%). But the box office grosses aren’t. Since Saw 3, the opening weekend totals have only dropped by $2m each time:

2004 – Saw – $18.2M opening – $55.1M cume
2005 – Saw 2 – $31.72M opening – $87M cume
2006 – Saw 3 – $33.6M opening – $80.2M cume
2007 – Saw 4 – $31.7M opening – $63.3M cume
2008 – Saw 5 – $29M estimated opening

Saw 5′s production budget was reportedly only $10.8 million and any franchise that’s tripling its budget on opening weekend is not going to be abandoned. On this scale of decline, the series has a looong way to go before it’s considered no longer financially viable.

So what can we expect from Saw 6? Saw 5 director David Hackl has confirmed he’s stepping aside for Kevin Greutert, who’s edited every Saw movie to date. Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton, who wrote Saws 4 and 5, will pen the screenplay.

As for returning cast members, Costas Mandylor (Mark Hoffman) has signed for Saw 6, as has Tobin Bell (Jigsaw).

The fate of Dr Gordon from Saw 1 remains the biggest mystery in the series. The reason he never reappeared in subsequent movies is that actor Cary Elwes filed a lawsuit in 2005 against the producers for shortchanging him on pay. The rumor is they have now made up and Leigh Whannell says Elwes might be back for Saw 6.

(Dr Gordon’s fate may actually be revealed in the upcoming Saw Video Game, since it’s written by original creators Leigh Whannell and James Wan and set at the same time as Saw 1).

There have also been hints that the infamous bathroom set could make a return, after an absence from Saw 5.

You can be damn sure that Saw 6 will be released Halloween 2009.

Wall-E Review

31 May

I hadn’t paid any attention to the Wall-E advertising blitz as I don’t have any children and I don’t normally watch animated features at the theater (in fact I can’t remember the last time I did.) I only remember seeing a cardboard cutout of Wall-E at a theater a few months ago and thinking “wow, he looks just like the robot from Short Circuit.” Short Circuit was one of my favorite films as a kid and I thought they were just going to be rehashing that old story. I thought “just Hollywood rehashing another old idea, ho hum.”

So needless to say I didn’t have any plans on seeing the movie, all of that changed when I started hearing what other people were saying about it. It was getting glowing reviews from a lot of people whose opinion I trust. I then decided to go to Rotten Tomatoes to check out what the critics were saying. I have never read such positive reviews for a movie before. I decided that I had to see this for myself.

So I went to a theater in New York City to see Wall-E yesterday. The theater was packed which I wasn’t too surprised by. What I was surprised by was that the audience was about 95% adult and I am not exaggerating when I say that. In fact I only saw 4 children in the entire theater. I figured they must have read the same reviews I did and wanted to check out for themselves.

I do not want to give away a lot of plot or talk a lot about specific things that happen in the movie as I think it’s best experienced how I experienced it, not really knowing much about it except that a lot of people are really enjoying it.

Is it a rehash of Short Circuit? No. Not even close. It has nothing to do with that movie except that the lead character robot has a similar look. It actually has a lot more in common with 2001: A Space Oddyssy. Yes, you read that correctly. In fact the movie is quite clearly inspired by 2001. And I do mean “inspired,” it’s not a “rip-off” in anyway.

This is not your average cartoon movie. It is something special. I believe it’s the type of movie that people will remember many years from now. It’s truly incredible how it can manage to entertain people from ages 5 to age 100. And yes, this is a G-rated movie. There are no lame attempts at “adult” humor. This film is not adult in that way, it’s adult in a much deeper way. I actually think the movie is something of a spiritual film. It’s a movie that makes you feel wonder about the world. While it’s a warning of sorts, I feel that it’s actually an awakening. It’s not too late. You can begin now.

It’s a wonderful thing that a movie this intelligent and with this much integrity is being made in 2008. It’s a wonderful thing that children of today have a masterpiece to call their own. And that’s what Wall-E is, it’s a true masterpiece. I believe it deserves to be considered for the Oscar for best picture. And no I don’t mean best animated movie, I mean best picture overall. It’s definitely the best new movie I’ve seen this year.

Needless to say: Thumbs Up.
